CAT GROOMING
Does your cat need help with its coat? Not every cat can groom itself, especially long haired cats in warm weather. Shedding the extra cat fur means knots and tangles for some of our feline friends. Your cat's little tongue has to do a lot of work to keep all that fur manageable!
At the Cat Clinic, we can get your cat looking its best. If your feline companion has long hair that knots, or just gets too fluffy to manage, the we can comb out the excess, and clip a matted coat down to a manageable length (called a 'Lion Clip' if only the head, tail and feet are left furry, or a 'Defluff, Belly and Bottom Clip' if only those areas are cut back).

This usually involves a safe sedative, particularly if the knots are tight - recommended so your cat is not in in fear or pain while the knots and hair are combed and clipped, and also to prevents accidental nicks and clipper cuts. Then we wash and blow dry your cat so she is looking her best!
Sometimes short haired cats can benefit from a wash as well - big city dirt gets a bit hard to wash off sometimes. And if your cat has been pounced on by fleas, then they need a helping hand to get rid of all those fleas, their eggs and that nasty fleadirt!
Older cats also get arthritis and can't bend around to groom themselves any more, so they get tufts of hair along their sides and back. Pain relief and clipping or combing out the hair followed by a cleansing wash perks these old felines up no end.
Lots of cats need their nails clipped - we can do them - and show you how! Save your skin, your furniture and your cat from getting caught in the carpet!
All sedations and grooming is done under veterinary supervision by the Cat Vets at the Cat Clinic. Before, During and After a longhaired cat gets tidied up
